Arrival begins after the difficult part is supposedly over. The journey has been made. The threshold has been crossed. The traveler has reached somewhere new. But reaching a place and belonging to it are not the same thing.
Every outsider eventually confronts the same question: do I change to fit this world, or remain recognizably myself within it? Arrival holds that tension without resolving it. Sometimes the bravest part of arriving is allowing yourself to be new without immediately trying to become familiar.
